But, David Jockers DC, MS, CSCS recommends that the salt quantity you use should correlate with your own body weight. Also he is suggesting to soak from 20 to 40 minutes. The first 20 minutes is pulling out toxins while the rest 20 minutes allow your body to absorb all the minerals in.

Here are the Epsom salt quantities that he recommends:

  • Individuals between 60 and 100 lbs: 1 cup
  • Individuals between 100 and 150 lbs: 1 and 1/2 cups
  • Individuals between 150 and 200 lbs: 2 cups
  • For every 50 lbs more, add 1/2 cup of salts more
  • For children under 60 lbs: 1/2/ cup
